The SS Oriana, seen on either side in Sydney Harbour in 1961, was built in the UK in 1960. She was well loved in Australia and many Aussies enjoyed a cruise around the Pacific islands aboard her.

I first fell in love with the Oriana in 1984 when visiting crew members between cruises in Sydney and Perth. In January 1986 I went on one of her very last cruises before she was sold.

When I finally finish my unpacking after moving house - I will upload some pics from my cruise.

This is what she looked like in China in 2000. No where near as grand as she use to be. Quite a sad sight.

I was saddened to read of Oriana's final demise in June. So sad to see the windows of the Stern Galley - where I use to sit and enjoy a drink each night.
