23 July 2005 Saturday
Well BB05 is nearly at an end - and to mess with our heads and with those of the housemates - BB sprung a surprise Logan eviction on us this week. On Wednesday night the housemates got a few seconds notice that they had to nominate a Logan to go. The votes were 4 to 2 & Logan Dave was on his way to prizes and a car.

Just two lads left - the sweet Logan Greg and the revolting icky creepy Tim. In the girs we are down to Crusty Christy - the slaggy teen who hasnt washed her 3 pairs of knickers in the last 9 week, Kate - the intelligent peacemaker, Vesna - the hillarious winner to be, Rita - omigod HOW ANNOYING, and invisible Mel.

So I am predicting a final three of Ves, LoganGreg and Kate. In tomorrow nights eviction I am predicting Tim and Rita - well hoping more than predicting.

Elsewhere, two weeks to the day of the last bombings - London was bombed again on Thursday. This time it looks like the bombmaker has already skipped the country and left some amateurs in charge because only the detonators exploded - not the bombs themselves - so thankfully no deaths or major injuries to the train and bus passengers this time.

What are we suppose to thing about people who are prepared to bomb the country they were born in ? utter contempt.  While I am all for very strong immigration policy and detention centres etc - there aint a lot that can be done to prevent entry of someone born in the country yet is prepared to bomb its transport system and passengers.

The pic shows the 4 suspects - all of whom probably thought they would be dead by now - but because the bombs didnt detonate properly they are walking the streets of the UK. I have cofidence the British police will catch every single one of them.

You have to love the British. In an effort worthy of an episode of The Bill - by day 5 or 6 they had identified and named the cretins who bombed London last week. Who says CCTV cant save the world.
Something that has come out of the London Bombings - a new way of identifying people. In your palm pilot or your mobile phone address book - add an entry that starts with ICE - it stands for In Case of Emergency - then add your next of kins name and phone number. Emergency services will automatically check that location first and it will really help them out.

Didnt have the best week at work. A nasty female bully has joined my team. In her previous teams she has left people in a wave of stress. Just 7 days of working nearby and she has already verbally attacked me.

It would be nice to think bullys get their come-uppance one day (at least they do in Ben Eltons Past Mortem) but realistically they just plunder their way from team to team destroying peoples way of life.

I wonder what joy they get from it ? I know a few years ago when I worked with another female bully - she eventually made herself sick and was away from work for months (it was a bloody holiday for us !!). I imagine it must be pretty hard work to keep up such a vile persona day in and day out.

I taught myself to make my first risotto this week - a capsicum and mushroom one. Quite pleased with the results and the leftovers were delish for luch at work the next day. Any nice fish and nut free risotto recipes will be greatfully recieved !!

July 9 2005 Saturday
FARRRRRRRRRR OUT it has been a cold week. Our three coldest mornings in a row - 0.02 and the like. Snowfall in Kalgoorlie ???? What tha ??

Started working with a whole new team this week. Same actual work - just surrounded by new faces. New personalities to suss out, new working habits to gather.

Came home Thursday to the live footage of London terrorist attacks on the Underground. Immediate panic as it was early morning peak hour and I knew I would have friends on those trains. By Friday evening I had heard from them all - safe and sound. Some were too close to the events for their own liking but I was so glad to hear they werent injured.

Only pathetic wankers choose to bomb commuters on their way to work. Bombs etc should be saved for actual wars between soldiers. I lived in London during the IRA bombfest and was literally paranoid and terrified everytime I travelled on the tube - you never knew if the number was up for your train that day.

June 25 2005 Saturday.
Sheeeeet I have had a couple of really awful weeks.
First up - two Wednesdays ago my office tried to poison myself and all my coworkers when some stupid contractor released toxic solvents into the aircon ducts. Many of us were sent home with nausea, headaches, dizziness and similar. Some were worse - bleeding from the nose etc. Any way its been 10 days and I still have no taste buds. For the first 6 or so days I had the vile metallic gluey taste in my mouth - that has now subsided but the taste buds have not returned to normal.

Then the State Revenue Dept sent me a huge land tax bill for a property I havent owned for 2 years. Because I got the bill on Friday afternoon and the dept was closed - I worried all weekend that it was yet another after effect of an allround disastrous property settlement in 2003. When I finally got hold of the dept on Monday they decided it was all an error - no apologies of course - no "sorry we made you upset and panicy all weekend".

Then on Wednesday this week my hot water system decided its life expectency had been exceeded. NOT HAPPY JAN.  I have my fingers crossed that the strata will cover the bill - but something tells me that the way this months luck is going I will end up with a $1000 bill :(  DAMN.

So I really have to say - Big Brother has been my only saving grace - it never fails to make me laugh or smile. And now the pathetic do gooders with no lives (and apparently no remote controls or will power) are whinging that its porn and obscene. Get a life guys - no one is sitting there forcing you to watch it. If Channel 10 on Monday at 9.30 is so repugnant to you then flick to another friggen station - hell I find Ch9 at 9.30 on Thursdays utterly offensive and think Eddie and Sam should be dead - but do I write to a paper and demand The Footy Show be removed from TV Guides ? No - I simply change the channel. Its not brain surgery.

So I share with you - the BB05 housemates who entertain me during the week. The Logan twins and the fab Kate - who took a few weeks to grow on me but now I think she is FAB.

June 3 2005 Friday
Doncha hate when you get back from a holiday and feel like you havent been anywhere !  I had a week in Sydney plus an overnight stay in Adelaide and here I am back home, back at work, wondering when my next holiday can be.

The reason for my trip - well firstly I went to opening night of The Producers. I found a great posse on the red carpet and photographed many of my favourite actors - most of whom I have seen on stage some time over the past 20 years. People like Simon Burke, Peter Cousins, Iva Davies, Jackie Love, Toni Lamond, Rob Guest and Stuart Wagstaff. And other people like Kamahl, Don Lane, Ken Done, Peta Toppano, Maggie Tabbera, Ita Buttrose, Caroline O'Conner, Grant Dodwell and Bob Downe. Even Millsy from Idol was there with his mum. ooh and hunky Dan MacPherson with new girlfriend Michela Banas.

The Producers was a simply magnificent crass hilarious romp. Literally side splitting. I really had to admire Tom Burlinson and Reg Livermore - they both have such physical roles. Chloe Dallimore is hilarious and ole Bert Newton has some great scenes.  I really enjoyed it. The standing ovations went for sometime - until we risked strangulation from streamers !!

Then it was off to the after party where I had the opportunity to meet Tom - an actor I have admired for some 25 years and who has kindly allowed me to run his fan site for the past few years. A really lovely guy indeed.

What else did I do in Sydney - caught up with pals Keith & Shane, Mim, and Manda. Practised my nighttime city lights photography with Manda.

Then it was off to Adelaide to see the new David Williamson play Influence - starring my other website guy - John Waters. Really good play - about radio shock jocks and how their opinions affect other people - especially those in their own lives.

May 21 2005 Saturday
What a week.
Monday morning - like 6am - Perth was rudely awoken by our biggest storm in the past ten years - and I remember that one well (May 94) and back then I lost all my fences. No damage for me this time round but many of my co workers have been without power all week and some have had to stay home as their kids schools had been totally destroyed.

Fortunately the storm had subsided by later in the day when my brand new PURPLE (surprised ??) sofas were delivered - see the piccie of them all set up in their new location.
Tuesday the newsflash came thru at work - "our" Kylie diagnosed with breast cancer. Being the same age as me its a shock when one in my age group gets diagnosed. GET WELL SOON KYLES.

And a message to the media - FLUCKOFF and go home - especially the brit media scum paparazzi mob - and your auusie counterparts who have basically grown the same low life morals.  Kylie and her family have enough to deal with without you pieces of scum camping outside their house day and night.
And Ray Martin - you have a hide to say anything about them because you are no friggen better. The way you and channel 9 have acted with the various drug smugglers - be it "pretty brunettes" or the "Bali 9" - its an utterly contemptable lowest form of journalism that you have now reached - You make me sick.  Innocence Polls ?? Live courtroom verdict coverage ??? Give me a break.  What pathetic lows can you reach next week ??

Meanwhile in the real world..................... I am still loving BB05 - even tho the twins got caught out last Sunday - just as I started watching live online !  What a thing to watch.

May 14 2005 Saturday
Well Big Brother has been on for 6 days and already I am hooked again. The twist this year is Twins. They swap over every 24 hours. If they succeed in tricking the housemates for 2 weeks they will be allowed to both enter the house and compete seperately. If they get caught out - they both enter the house but compete as one, and get nominated and evicted together. So far the housemates have not noticed - considering one has quite a bit of scarring over one eye - it shows how unobservant people can be !
Lets hope they continue to get changed in the Diary Room - views like this are SWEET !!
I love the new house design and colours - and the clouds on the bedroom walls are hilarious.
And I really really love the new Friday Night Live show - cos for too long tv stations have believed we all go out partying on Fridays - when instead we are sitting at home thinking "man there is such crap on TV on friday nights !".
Only one more night of the current season of Survivor - sorta predictable that the two guys - Ian and Fireman - will be the final two - hard to tell how the jury will swing as they are both very likeable. Amazing Race started a new season the other week - this time starring previous Survivor lovers Amber & Rob. I really hope they get eliminated soon - Rob has basically cheated outright in the first two eps.
There was a dead mouse under my desk at work this week - grose. I actually thought the guy sitting next to me was a bit smelly about 5 days earlier !  Says a lot for the quality of the cleaners when they dont even pull under desk drawers out to vacumn - cos if they did - they would have found the corpse last week !  Our office is infested - and these are no ordinary mice - they have eaten thru people tupperware containers - and I am pretty sure Tupperware would be shocked at that !
Yesterday was Black Friday - and for Perth motorists it was a shocker. A water main burst - spilling the equiv of 6 olympic swimming pools of water across the freeway, destroying freeway offramps, flooding homes and offices, and trapping people in peak hour traffic for up to 5 hours.

May 8 2005 Sunday
ooohwarrr just as I wrote the date I realised it was Mothers Day !  Oops. Its been a quiet but annoying week.  Lost a lot of time at work as I left at lunchtime two days in a row - once to have xrays and CT scans done on my spine, and the next day I had to meet tradesmen to watch them fix the leak in my roof. Then the insomnia kicked in bigtime and left me sleepless on Wednesday and Thursday. So I crashed out before midnight on Friday and slept thru to late morning. During the time I dreamt up an entire concept for an over 30s performance venue/bar. So detailed was the dream I actually woke up several times to make notes and drawings !  So now I just need to win lotto to pay for it all !
Spent the weekend uploading photos to another part of Homestead - Photosites - an actual photo album with chapters.  So when its ready to go - all the photos from my current page of photo albums - will all be found on the photosites album - which will load much faster for everyone. No more waiting and waiting for my pages to open up !!
The two yummiest and most intriguing reasons to watch BBO5 !
The Kwinana Freeway yesterday !
Kyles..... and the new purple sofa's.
Me with the lovely Tom Burlinson.
Manda and her gorgeous city lights.
Scene from the London bombings
Its time to leave ........ Logan Dave
